Killzone 2 Review 6/14/09

Story 9.5/10
Though the story may seem like its just a story of payback, it has some excellent surprises and plot twists and also is interesting enough to keep you wanting to continue through the game. The only downfall was the ending, I really thought the final ending was epic, but so not to spoil anything, the actions that lead up to it can leave you thinking, why did they do that. Although it left the title open to another much anticipated sequel.

Gameplay 9/10
The gameplay is excellent, it flows very well and keeps you excited and very involved in the action, the only drawback is that the default controls can be a bit difficult to get used to, but you can change those settings around to different presets, but it is worth getting used to the default, the way the game was meant to be played.

Graphics 10/10
The graphics are stellar, the best that current generation titles have to offer so far, the frame rate rarely ever drops and all of the cut scenes are rendered in game, also the blood effects are really nice and realistic.

Replayability 8/10
There is not much to be offered here unless you want to unlock the trophies for completing the game on one of its higher difficulty levels. Other than that you may want to go back through to stop and relive the carnage again and again, because the game is extremely fun.

Multiplayer 9.5/10
The multiplayer has a solid level up feature like the ones present in the more recent call of duty games, the gameplay is great and you rarely ever see any lag, although it can sometimes take quite some time to load into an already happening game. There are also some very in-depth clan features that you can use to track rankings and other things.

I wasn't gonna be a fanboy and just give the whole game a 10/10, while the game is great, it too has flaws, and they should be made known, but I loved the game overall.

I love the game but the multi- player just doesn't have enough options. The look and feel of the game is great but with no local multi-player, no co-op and only one match type it can't compete with the giants of the gerne.

If it had traditional team death match, traditional capture the flag, free-for-all and some kind of co-op, plus KZ2's main match type WARZONE the game would have been the PS3's halo.

Campaign still kicks ass.
