In the film "Bond of Fear" (1956) ex - London Transport bus STD 6 (DLU 316), a pre-war Leyland double decker, is featured for just over a minute of screen time. The bus was sold by London Transport on 22nd December 1954 and passed to the independent firm Smith's of Reading who operated quite a few ex-London transport vehicles in the 50s and 60s. Dermot Walsh stars in the film which concerns a family whose holiday is ruined when they encounter a murderer on the run.
The film is available in the UK on dvd from Odeon Entertainment as part of their "Best of British" range of titles.
The guy on the bus is from the 1940s! Didn't know this was out on DVD..hope there are more shots of cars and streets..
