A fire broke out in the roof of this historic railway station, for reasons unknown. The enormous flames were visible from the European side of Istanbul.

The Haydarpasha is a major intercity rail station and transportation hub in Istanbul. The station has a main building opened in 1909.

The Anatolian Railway hired two German architects; Otto Ritter and Helmut Conu to build the building. They chose a neo-classical structure and construction started in 1906....

  • Mir treiben diese Bilder heute noch die Tränen in die Augen. Was für ein Verlust für Istanbul und alle Freunde dieser Stadt.
