A slightly longer theme for on these Opening titles in 1988. This is the only time I have so far come across this. This episode was orginally aired on ITV 13th October 1988.

This video is posted to support the DVD releases which I encourage people to purchase.

Apologies for the poor quality.

  • 0:27 - DS Ted Roach - could easily have worked alongside Gene Hunt :)

  • Burnside as a DCI. Gene Hunt as a DI.

    DS Ted Roach.

    What a team that would make :)

  • why are they unusual?

  • As the description says the theme goes for longer which is unusual.

  • poor? thats gd not poor

  • Holy shit is that Michael Sheen at the start?

  • @TheDoctor001 whats the name of the episode where the whole sun hill team investigate the dissaperance of a young girl and DS Phil Hunter attacks a supermarket clerk over him being given the wrong cctv tapes and ends up having to take all the tapes with him? whats the name of the episode and what season is it from?

  • I kinda miss the old gang from The Bill. It's fun to watch the very first episodes. The character Jim Carver was so young and kinda boyish :-)

  • @davidn87 it was the best in the 80s and early 90s. i dont know who gave you a red thumbs down but you are right the BILL is shite now.

  • Rover SD1. The last proper British police car? The last with a V8 I'm pretty sure

  • The Bill was definately at it's best in the 90s. I was only about 7 or something when I started watching it lol. I remember watching the omnibus on UK Gold, and then starting to watch the 'new' episodes on STV at 8 oclock. It's a shadow of it's former self now, with all these 'pretty boys' and the hollyoaks rejects. At least back then you could believe the likes of Reg, Tony & June could be real police officers, the idiots on it now would get laughed at if they tried to arrest you.

  • The bill &heart;

  • Oh god no. This is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before "my time". I was only about 6 or 7 at the time of those episodes and should have been in bed when The Bill came on!

  • yeah i rember wt u sed do u rember the episode im talking bout
