Channel 27 WKOW News- Jacob A. Meinert's Death

A Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin Marine, Jacob A. Meinert, was killed in Afghanistan in a roadside bombing on Jan. 10. Jacob Teed, friend, stated that the two of them were like brothers to each other and that he was a very pleasant young man. The principal of Fort Atkinson High School told that Meinert was a 2007 graduate of the school. The 20-year-old Jefferson County native was part of a patrol in southern Afghanistan when his vehicle was attacked. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. An Afghan soldier and a British newspaper reporter were also killed in the attack.

hey jacob, this is annie. i couldn't get the video to work on facebook so i looked it up on here. thank you for posting this.. i still can't believe what happened. it hasn't really hit me yet. you did a great job with your interview, by the way. i hope you're holding up well. this has been hard on everyone who knew him well.. he will be sorely missed.

Yeah idk what's wrong with Facebook Video, it hasn't been working for me either. I felt like this needed to be posted, everybody that I had talked to yesterday didn't even know about his death. Thank you for your support btw. No I'm not holding up well at all, it's been a very emotional day for me. Plus I'm trying to figure out when his funeral is, idk what it is yet. Hmmm...yup Jake will be sorely missed :(
