The Housing Choice Voucher Program, more commonly known as Section 8 or Section 8 Rental Assistance, is a housing assistance program created and run by the federal government. It was created to help very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private housing market.

  • I will never understand these people who say "i had it hard so i want you to have it just hard as hard" i mean i by no means want to see my money wasted on people who simply refuse to work but people act like this is a massive problem like it makes up the majority of people who get help and it doesn't. People also love to complain about taxes being so high they really are actually at an all time low.

  • @TeamRekon but why should the people who did make it pay for the people who didn't?

Necessity is mother of all invention, if your basics are guarenteed by the feds, then what the hell is going to motivate your to make a change.

  • @mjpitche Although what you say is true, I'm just trying to tell you that not everyone can be as lucky as you are right now. You survived right? Not everyone can get this chance. Sure kids are doing all these shitty things but TV defiantly does not portraying ANYTHING in the right sense. TV is full of biased people who tell you what THEY want YOU to believe. I commend you for going through all that and I see where your rage comes from but understand you got very lucky even you might not know it

  • @mjpitche After college I had trouble landing a decent paying job so I went to school off and on at night to increase my skills. If young people aren't at least working a job or two and tying to at least get a trade or even cutting grass on the side, they are not trying hard enough. So many times on TV kids are fucking around in the streets and having unprotected sex and and carrying guns. If they had as busy a schedule as I did when I was their age, they wouldn't have time to get into trouble.

  • @mjpitche Continued: I taught myself how to write and spell in my spare time between working at the farm and a restaurant. I transferred to a four year school and took out a loan and used money from my job to pay for it. Never once in my life or my parents life did any of us take any form of welfare of subsidy. On top of all my problems, I had severe Tourette Syndrome and a hell of a lot of trouble focusing. There were a lot of other issues going on that I won't go into. Even with schooling

  • @TeamRekon I was so poor growing up that food was considered a luxury. We were so poor and our house was in such bad shape that we didn't let friends in because of the shame. We had an old broken down car. I worked hard labor on a farm from the age of 15. The work was 7 days per week and I had to be there by 6:00 AM. I made $5/hour but I made enough money to get through 2 years of community college. I could barely read but couldn't write due to a shitty poor public school education. I taught

  • @mjpitche that's generalizing so many people. there are "kids" who TRY, TRY to get educated. How is it there fault they aren't as lucky as you?

Taxes are high and the government just does absolutely shit with it. How is it that only the US has a unregulated health care system? Before you blame these kids, blame your government because for them to take a step, they take a arm from you.

  • @TeamRekon It is igorant to have a bunch of kids before 18, not get educated, never work, then steal from the public to pay for your housing, child care, and food costs. People like me can no longer afford to support ignorant pople like this. If I could pay a little less tax, I could live in a better neighborhood and have more for my family.

  • @mjpitche wow how ignorant

  • Everyone wins but the people who are paying full price to live in the neighborhood just to have freeloaders pay little to nothing for the same house.
