This is a clip from my lecture/concert for the West Houston SDA Church on May 11, 2007. It is taken from the "house video" made by that church. In this clip I illustrate the non-metrical nature of Moses' Song of the Sea (Exodus 15:1b-18) and the metrical nature of Miriam's Song, which she adapted from the beginning of Moses' Song (15:21b). Moses undoubtedly sang most of his Song as a solosit, with the people responding *en masse* in verses 3 and 18. Miriam, by contrast, led the women in dancing with timbrels (tambourines without the clappers, in effect) in verses 20-21.
