From a couple of years ago, this is a professional grade Titanium Salute mortar shell. This is not to make pretty lights in the sky, only for the amazing sound effect.
VERY LOUD!

  • Oh my gosh, steel tube and concrete around it. That salute would send shrapnel flying if it went in the tube.

  • @davis050594

Steel tubes are what all the pro's use and it was sand in the bucket, not cement.

  • @SeeYouNextFall They use hdpe racks until around 6" diameter, then they use buried hdpe through 12" then 16-24" they use buried steel.

In my area, they use HDPE for the larger mortars, but galvanized steel for the smaller ones.

I guess its just a matter of choice.

  • hey try tapping the fuse 2 the side and lowering it down into the mortar i find itway easies

  • How do you make these?

  • @SeeYouNextFall With color shells, steel is fine, but it's way to heavy.

  • Pretty good ti salute, check out my most recent video of a m 80 class salute I made for the fourth of july 2009.
