I loved David in this film. They cast an artist to play him and he had the same expression as David painted in his self-portrait. He didn't say much, but he added to the film. Oh, and I thought the entire cast did a good job, The music was eerie, but I thought it worked.

@TheBlizzard45 Robespierre never went mad. He reacted to his environment. France was surrounded by enemies without and within and the enemies within posed an even greater threat. The only reason France managed to win the first Revolutionary war was because of Robespierre iron fist.

@thelouisfanclub now the is no actual proof that he was power mad but there is transcriptis of his trial that suggest him having a form of schizophernia but that has never been validated either. But, if you read more closely Robspierre did not want to leave paris because that was his home. and he said right before his execution that Paris will be his home for eternity. So iwould not blame him for wanting his end to be in Paris.
