Evil Ground Squirrels

A bunch of squirrels invaded my yard this year! Actually they are white-tailed antelope squirrels, although at first I thought they were chipmunks. The neighborhood stray cat has enjoyed catching these little fellas and between squirrels, birds, and free handouts, he's been eating pretty well!

FUN FACT: White-tailed antelope squirrels (Ammospermophilus leucurus) produce litters of 5-14 baby squirrels each year!

I have a ground squirrel or two here. I've noticed that if my cat traps one (not pinned down but cornered) they let out this odd chirp like a smoke detector with a bad battery (intermittent high pitched chirps). Have you ever heard something like that in association with them?

@RightArmProductions Only once did I hear one of these guys chirp and that was when the cat caught and killed one. One chirp and it was all over! Kind of sad, but you can't get mad at a cat for being a cat!

cool vid! we have some white squirrels around here - not albinos but all white. they are pretty rare but a family of them live in a friends backyard. theres also a sanctuary for them nearby. very cool looking. later! clarence

@GEEZERKLIPS I actually saw the cat in the video catch one. I'm sure he caught a few during the last few months. But I'm pretty sure he likes the doves better.
