This is a video tutorial that shows how to do an animation of a growing flower using Synfig Studio. The tutorial roughly follows the basic animation tutorial on the Synfig Studio website.

PS: The problem I mention in the intro is actually a bug that was fixed in r2149.

  • hello, hey i have this problem, i've looked around and haven't found anything yet, when i tray to move something, it kind of stick, so is not like moving it kind of stretches end get long, could you plis help me

  • @jerrytrozt Are you sure you are in "animation mode". That is, is the button in the bottom-right corner of the main window (the drawing canvas) red (and not green), and do you have a red border in the drawing canvas (like in the video)? If not, you're still in drawing mode.

  • Hi gercocb, I just downloaded synfig today and I dont have the "Make Bline" button on my panel...could you help me out please? thank you!

  • It is the button that is shaped like an 'n', in the main Synfigstudio window (the one with all the buttons), in the third or fifth row (depending on how you count). It has the symbol of an old-style pen. See the Synfig website, and use the search field for "bline".

  • Select the stem layer (left mouse button), also select the petal layer (ctrl + left mouse button). Then select the origin (green dot) of the petal layer (left mouse button), and also select the vertex (brownish dot) of the petal (ctrl + left mouse button). Then right mouse button click on the origin to show the popup menu and select link. Read also the description in the URL I gave...
