  • who won the tournament?

  • USATT Open Singles Final: Zhang Yining (CHN) bt Lei Zhenhua (CHN) 12-10, 11-5, 11-6

Zhang won both the Open and the Women's event.

  • i just want to know why these matches...is it for the public?...it makes no sense she being here in the states playing low quality players...

  • This was an invitational tournament organized by Killerspin (TT company), with some matches produced for TV. Zhang Yining didn't only play "low quality players", she also beat Lei Zhenhua and Lucian Blasczcyk. Chen Qi was there too but apparently chose not to play against Zhang...

  • USATT ratings are overrated. We have a bunch of cocky members here in our table tennis league in Dallas. They brag about there ratings were in fact its nothing compared to the rest of the world.

  • Unimpressed with Zhang's winning this tournament. Hell I'm more impressed Zhang even cared enough to join this Tournament!!

  • @plot000000 The Plano TT club is growing. I use to play at Dona Chens club but it's a long drive because I live in Plano.

  • @quickzilver333 ah, i was an active player in plano about 5 or so years ago. guess i was lucky not to have run into bad people. but I can see where you're coming from. i was never super competitive so the people at my level were usually pretty chill

  • @plot000000 I have played all over Dallas, Richardson and Plano. I have seen players with egos way up there. I have no problem with the Wesleyan Players. They are very professional when it comes to tournament. I have however met a bunch of cocky players that brags about their ratings then whine and cry when they lost to unrated player like me :) I have one guy came up to me and said he is a professional player with a 2000rating. Then brags about beating a 1600player.

  • @quickzilver333 what part of dallas? are you talking about the guys at texas weslyan? i'd say usatt ratings are a decent representation of skill level. it's a little different than the other types of rating systems, but it's not too bad. hazinski at his best is like 2600-2700 according to usatt, and that's considered to be fairly mediocre internationally but great in the US

  • @tmwee21 - He doesn't "suck", he was just outgunned. He would crush you and 99% of everyone else in the U.S. She's only the greatest women's player in the history of the world--and there's not THAT much difference between women and men in this sport, not like basketball.

  • @PingPongGod1 - Oh yeah, what's really "boring and beginner" is some clod who probably is about the 3rd best at his local club talking smack about a guy with a USATT rating about 500 - 1,000 pts higher than his.

  • did they play this in a shopping mall?

  • both players look like they dont care lol

  • This guy is sooooo lame, his game is sooooo boring and beginner
