Always remembered this mesmerizing piece! And I thought I was the only ididot who did, lol! Saw this film at an L.A. drive-in when I was 10, the same summer I first visited Disneyland and Magic Mountain. I've hummed this tune to myself for decades!

@RocketRodder Another note about the 'misdirection' rollercoaster scene -apparently the camera man was in a helicopter and got major flack from the studio after that scene was shot. I believe it was putting the riders at risk just for a shot and insurance issues. I remember the theater crowd gasping and going 'oh s%*! when that part was shown. First time, you don't see it coming. Watch it here on YouTube under: 'Rollercoaster 1977 part 7'.

@RocketRodder Thanks RR! Here's another tidbit -the scene in which Harry (George Segal) is in the front car riding the Rebel Yell (at Magic Mountain): As the coaster makes the turn, the camera (audience P.O.V.) flies off the track and we hear the riders scream, giving an illusion that the coaster has flown off the track as in the first crash. Suddenly, the camera quick-pans and we see the coaster on the track. A cool misdirection audience gasper! Quentin Tarantino used it in "Death Proof"
Very well described. It does have a hauntingly sound to it. I remember watching the closing credits in the theater when this was released and kinda dug the music. It kinda captures the mood of the film. Fun-yet somewhat scary...like a rollercoaster! The actual title of the track is "Apple Turnover" (by Lalo Schifrin of course).

@kaiart If I could, I would somehow feature this comment. I LOVE tidbits of information like this. This might be why somehow I used to always link turnovers to theme parks. :P

I stand corrected. Didn't realize there was an expanded soundtrack for the movie.

@bmpeak I myself don't have the soundtrack, I did this using audio from the movie looped. D:
