  • My Hitachi Digital8 camcorder puts a hum in the audio all the time when using the power supply, even with the built-in microphone.

    Wow, that's a bad design! Not even my Aiptek camcorder does that :D

  • @DrCassette Was this video actually recorded using the Aiptek? It sounds like it.

    The video was recorded using a Canon Powershot A95 digital camera. The VGA recording mode on it is limited to 30 seconds, that's why the video is so short.

  • What5 a nuisance, is the AC adaptor for the camcorder earthed when plugged in? I wonder of that's the reason why, maybe the AC adaptor doesn't filter out AC line noise very well. I know that when I use my MP3 player with its AC Adaptor and use battery powered speakers the amplifier in the speakers often hums a bit.
