In April, 2009, a newly-installed majority on the Pacifica Foundation's national board began a purge of the network of its political adversaries. As morning news editor of a listener-sponsored radio station - where the listener's contributions pay about 85% of the bills, including salaries - I made an editorial decision that this ongoing purge was newsworthy to our listening audience. The following month - with no notice to me and no opportunity to speak in my own defense until AFTER they voted - the WBAI local station board took the action shown in this video. I was terminated as morning news editor two business days later.
