Time stood still,
apart from his webbed feet which cant be seen, the flamingo is motionless, almost as still as the rock on in the foreground!
so beautiful!

thank you for such thoughtful comments!!
laughter and sadness hold hands. no need to second guess your reactions.
the lake seen in the footage is man made. and if you listen, you can hear the freeway with vehicles humming continuously just meters away. I sit up there often and try to make sense of such a place. i am both the rock and the flamingo in this unnatural natural world.

(2/2) to a circle what a globe is? I felt a bit ashamed that I had laughed at first. Eventually, though, this is replaced by yet another sentiment, a sense of the majestic strength of forbearance. The flamingo, in spite of its outer appearance, suffers its fate silently; with slow, patient determination it moves on, eyes closed (or so it seems), unaffected by the world, a being in its own right. - I also liked how the piece of rock sits there. The video wouldn't be as good without it.

(1/2) I love this video! At first, the flamingo appears to be comically absurd. Then, when it is about halfway through, it seems really profoundly sad; its garish colour in contrast to the natural browns and greens and blues of the landscape, its blatant two-dimensionality in a picture that is organised in almost perfect stripes of very near, near, far, infinitely far -- what first appeared to be comical is really isolation, two irreconcilable spheres of existence. How do you explain
