American Black Vulture, Baby Jester, 7 wks old, Feeding Time

Here is Baby Jester, a 7 week old American Black Vulture feeding from the parent. His feathers are starting to come in as he awkwardly flaps his wings and excitedly grunts as he begins to eat. In about 3 more weeks, he will shed almost all of the yellow down as the black feathers grow in and cover about 75% of the bird. He will be ready to fly at about 12 weeks old.
