Recording on an Edison Phonograph. Even though the museum itself has been closed for restoration for about 6 years, Edison Day 2009 still went on at the Edison National Historic Site in West Orange, NJ.
The recording session was in one of the smaller buildings on the grounds. A live band and singer demostrated the principles of acoustic recording onto a brown wax cylinder. Then the cylinder was played back.
ATTENTION: If I had known I would be attending a recording demonstration, I would have brought my camcorder, unfortunately all I had was a digicam so PLEASE PARDON THE POOR AUDIO. It sounded better in person.
what phonographs are you using, the one with a cygnet horn looks like a fireside and the recording one looks like a home, am i right?

Amazing! It picked the sound up very well. I would love to see if 30 & 32 line Baird type video signals would be recognisable on my 2 mechanical televisors. These are demonstrated working on my channel.
