1. I don't know why you are not getting good audio for the laptop-to-TV arrangement unless you are not using HDMI sockets.
2. I have a TiVo and it still gives me limited content. In addition to Amazon and Netflix, I can also get iTunes on it, but that is still a Walled Garden. To me it feels more like a Walled Prison once I get used to going anywhere I want with a laptop as Media Controller.
Adults have been surfing the Net for 10 years and were not satisfied with limitations on the PC.
