Hopslam
Bells Brewing
10.0% ABV
Beer Geek Nation Rating: A+
Beer Advocate Rating: A
Rate Beer Rating: 99/100

Starting with six different hop varietals added to the brew kettle & culminating with a massive dry-hop addition of Simcoe hops, Bell's Hopslam Ale possesses the most complex hopping schedule in the Bell's repetoire. Selected specifically because of their aromatic qualities, these Pacific Northwest varieties contribute a pungent blend of grapefruit, stone fruit, and floral notes. A generous malt bill and a solid dollop of honey provide just enough body to keep the balance in check, resulting in a remarkably drinkable rendition of the Double India Pale Ale style.

  • I'm searching your reviews for ones you disliked.. cant seem to find 'm.. I guess you really are an enthousiast.. Could you please do some reviews of notoriously bad beers? I really like your style of presentation.

  • @Aureas86 Search for Dogfish Head Ta Henket. I tend to not review beers I dont like as it does take a lot of time to do one of these reviews. Thanks for watching!

  • man i would pay high dollar for case. Sucks i get hopslam but pretty much impossible for me to get a case here in rockford.

  • @Guaranteedfresh1 I was only able to get half a case this year. I actually split one with a friend since I always never end up drinking it all.

  • Drinking a 2012 now and im not blown away at all, it's a good beer for sure but the hype is 10x better if you know what i mean. it's a really good beer but there are so many more hop bombs that slam hopslam in aroma and flavor over and over

  • @VaMoneyCow Yeah Im actually a bigger fan of Founders Double Trouble. Hopslam is really good but the honey just makes it to sweet for me.

  • @BeerGeekNation I haven't had founders double trouble i actually forgot all about that one so thanks for selecting my next purchase lol well if it's available

  • @mains89 Im picking up my case of Hopslam tomorrow! Cant wait! Heady Topper is great but I think I like this more to tell you the truth. Cheers

  • I am drinking a HopSlam right now. It is so damn delicious. The only IPA I have had so far that I can think of off of the top of my head is Heady-Topper. That is my favorite IPA so far. As far as my favorite beer though, that may be impossible to answer. Founders CBS, and KBS both come to mind though.
