from the album "Heartland Holiday" by Peter Ostroushko, et alia.

LYRICS:
Bright morning stars are rising
Bright morning stars are rising
Bright morning stars are rising
Day is a-breaking in my soul

Oh where is our dear father?
Oh where is our dear father?
He is down in the valley a-praying
Day is a-breaking in my soul

Oh, where is our dear mother?
Oh, where is our dear mother?
She is up in heaven a-shouting
Day is a-breaking in my soul.

Bright morning stars are rising
Bright morning stars are rising
Bright morning stars are rising
Day is a-breaking in my soul.

  • well, you can ride a hjorse to death, and you can sing a song to death, and exactly this is what happened here. such an awful lot of... curlicue around the melody-line (?? i am not english..) again: listen to "my" version and experience what a good interpretation is. don´t moan before you listened. and maybe (again) you can help who the singers are.

i know, one should not argue about taste, but this here is really way toooo much

  • hi, i have uploaded "my" bright morning stars request, maybe you can listen and one of you knows who i mean?n thanks. the url is yyy.youtube.com/watch?v=kOBWz-PKddc , just replace the y´s with w´s, youtube doesn´t allow links.

    thanks

  • Everyone has a style that moves them...just enjoy the music. It is a very moving and beautiful hymn, no matter how it is done. I like it, that is all that matters...but I like The Wailin Jennys version better.

  • jesus, they fucking killed the song after 45 seconds. AHHHHHHH my ears!

  • hi i am s.....

  • @Kaitipoo sure does. i remember singing this with my father when i was growing up. "Where is our dear father, " indeed.

  • This song takes you back to simplier ?? times. very nicely done.
