  • R u guys telling me that the soliders do not degrade the people in afgan aswell as abuse their powers.(was Reading through all the comments) I think that the soliders should come home becuase why do they have to risk their lives for smothers home land

  • Far as killing, sometimes it can be complex if the people (i.e. Taliban) you're fighting use child soldiers. If a 12 year old in Kandahar is going to fire a rifle at me, it's not going to matter to me that he's too young to understand, I have to kill him as fast as anyone. If it's him or me it's not going to be me or my buddies. I hope it never comes to such things for me, but if it does I have to hope God will forgive me for doing it out of need and NOT out of desire

  • There are some people who aren't interested in having things any other way. What did we do to deserve 9/11 anyway? Or the people within Afghanistan who have been repressed by the Taliban?

Gandhi's brilliant philosophy of non-violence was that to stop injustice, you had to make it visible, for then anyone with a conscience will react. But what of those who lack such feelings of remorse?

Violence should be the last answer, but it IS sometimes an answer I believe.

  • Fighting fire with fire is never a solution. I dont know the details but power is what the occupying forces seem to get out of it. I believe in that we humans were created by God and that a lot of people got the answer from God wrong about how to live our lives and the purpose of life. What can seem worth it in this world may seem as a total waste in the next life. The soldier alliance and the terrorists are killing innocent people and there is a penalty for it in the next life. A bad one.

  • to really understand you have to have been/be there...the media blows everything outta proportion. its not always constant fighting there are days where we just sit in the hummers all day driving around and see nothin...they thank us all the time for our help

  • I got a lot of friends who are cops as well as in the military, so I definitely hear you on that.

It seems to me more complex than people know. I mean there have been things which have upset people in Iraq and Afghanistan, but from a lot of the people I've spoken to, and a lot of the reading I've done, and videos I've seen, I think people over there appreciate that our troops are trying to bring them some kind of infrastructure and stability, and a LASTING peace.

  • Not to disagree with you, but rather learn more about opinions, I wanted to ask what reasons do you think we're in the war for and what are the right reasons? What kind of approach to peace would you like to see?

In Afghanistan we can't really pull back, rather we should of sent more before voter registration for the Afghan elections instead of before the vote, because then the country would have had a higher voter turnout because the Afghans would have felt safer.

  • Well its kinda difficult not listening to the bullshit media.. But i do believe we are in the war for all the wrong reasons. I would wish they would pull back and start a different approach to peace. God bless

  • there is always people who don't like us...just like a lot of people don't like cops hahahaha but the majority of iraqi /afghani people approve us don't listen to the bull shit media

    ooraahhh!
