@GrandFunker The downturn occured nearly two years before the near economic collapse. Both occured before Obama spent day one in the White House. Although many trace the legislation to give mortgages to people who may not be able to afford them to Carter, it was under GWB's watch when bankers and Wall Street accelerated the rolling of mortgages into securities and even encouraged folks to lie so they could get even more. I don't blame GWB, but the ones manipulating the puppet. Over your head?

@GrandFunker you mean the tax cuts that prom, pted major job growth? W's tax cuts prompted records in tax revenue for the govt...how do tax cuts create a boom in taxes collected by the govt? oh that's right! more jobs....more money...people spend more money...people happy...liberal douchebags
Okay, here is your post, copied and pasted. Where is the change of subject? Furthermore, where are the jobs? Again, it seems you want to take a snapshot of the good times without considering the outcome.

@SlimSh8E You're pathetic...you change the subject in an attempt to make me look dumb. What's really sad is it's backfired. Do you know what caused the economic downturn/collapse/recession(wh
atever you want to call it)? Obviously you do not, or you would be silent, as all ignorant lefties are when the truth is revealed. douche bag -
@GrandFunker Ah yes, it all worked out so well................if you take a snapshot of the best times. But then the last two years of GWB the economy took a big slide with the culmination being near calamity (of course we're not of those woods yet). And oh, by the way, he doubled the national debt in the process. In the words of the Mama Grizzly "How's that working out for ya'?" But of course, it's all Obama's problem now. Sheeesh!

And now we have a new GOP congress with 65 seat gains which is historic. We gained 7 Senate seats and 10 governors and 680 state legislature seats. This is why.....Obama is why because of his big government. The people have rejected big government. Palin is right on target with 95 percent of the times.

Reductions in heath care will have to come at the expense of those who need health care the most The Department of Health and Human Services study shows that five percent of the U.S. population, the elderly, the disabled and the gravely ill, accounts for nearly 50 percent of health care spending in America. Who are those five percent? Most are people over 65 years of age with serious, chronic illnesses. So ANY cut in heath care $ is going to come from that group. Useless eaters need not apply

Too bad McCain / Palin did not win ! McStain would have already attempted an attack on iran which would have brought on a Nuclear holocaust and we would all be nothing but VAPOR ... and your grandkids? poof nothing but dust in the wind !
well ...
it´s funny when you put a f-22 fighter airplane and school problems into context , because all of these would have to be paid somehow and the US is spending to much at military hardware at the moment !
They should hire better teachers then !
Besides ... lucky YOU that S. Palin is not Vice president ... things would be worse !

well ...
again I have to say ... the notion that govt. can NOT run anything effectivly and ...
"anything govt. touches is goin´down in flames" ...
is as stupid as it is wrong !
Maybe stupid is too strong a word , misguided perhaps ... because the govt. is YOU , who by the way helped out to make shure there is no economic meltdown !
As well as one could ask , how did the shit hit the ceiling in the first place ?
