This was one of those games in the early life of the C64, and riding on the coat tails of the popularity of Isometric games like Zaxxon. This was just a first test I did for recording gameplay videos so it's not very long ooops. It's nothing like Zaxxon though, and the graphics for a first generation c64 game are really nice and clean in style. I will go back and do a proper video of this later, but at least you get the idea for now. Better to upload it than leave it sitting on my hard drive...that would just be selfish of me :oP

It's quite a hard game anyway but I think it's awesome. I love the atmosphere of this game especially when you bother to set up the filters properly for the distant explosion sounds of the cruise missiles that get past you, it made most other games look like C+VG type-ins haha

  • I'm going to do a comparison video of US/EU versions of Zaxxon and Super Zaxxon soon too!

It has the background sound similar to the Zaxxon arcade which the C64 versions didn't have but it kinda plays different really.

  • God this reminds me of Zaxxon!.Long live 64!.

  • @Sclemtak

There is a great comparison between the two in Your64 magazine scans.

  • I love the look of "isometric" games. From Zaxxon, to Ant Attack & Realm of Impossibility, to Q*bert, R.C. Racers, Gene Rally & even Ultima online. I actually prefer it to the look of "3-D". I wish there were many more isometric games available. From vintage, to modern & wish more were made now.

  • Very funny, why people play GTA 4 when they have Dynavision

  • This looks like fun. I like the monumental style of the architecture too. The graphics aren't quite as detailed Zaxxon's but they are effective.
