  • I guess a lot people would think "what's so special about a blocked punt in the first quarter of the second game of the season?" It may not mean much to them, but it is certainly memorable for a die-hard Saint fan.

  • Steve has ALS. This is so heartbreaking to hear. My dad also has a fatal disease so hearing about this affects me in a different way. I feel bad for him.

  • @JohnnyBoyMagic Bills losing 4 straight Super Bowls and it's not even close.

  • A Warrior.

    Steve,

Your story is one of the most inspirational stories I have ever heard.

    You are a Champion.

  • @lazerdicks .. this was Steve Gleason, not Chris Reis

  • @deejwheresyourpen Hi dee that Was Chris Reis that recovered the onside kick and Steve Gleason that blocked the punt against the Falcons. He retired from football in 2008. I was watching the Saints and Houston play yesterday and Gleason was a honorary captain. He now has ALS and can barely walk. Gleason played for the Saints 8 years as a special teams player and back up safety. He was a great player and blocked 4 punts in his career. Bless you Steve Gleason!

  • so sad to hear about his condition now. my prayers go out to him.

  • @deejwheresyourpen Not to sound like an ass, but your wrong... Steve did not get the onside kick. In fact, that was Chris Reis... lol

  • @deejwheresyourpen that was actually chris reid. gleason retired before 2010

  • Gleason you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

  • Steve Gleason was and is an amazing man. Be Strong!
