Timelapse of the Chicago River Dyed Green 3/12/2011

They use a plumber's dye to detect leaks called "Drain Tracing Dye." The dye starts out orange when they pour it in, but after it mixes with the water it turns "Irish Green." the dye is made from 100% food grade products. Dyes are non-toxic and odourless. and they are approved by the National Rivers Authorities, Water Companies and Local Authorities.
