I live on the coast of the Atlantic ocean. The prior person was asking about the name of the inter-coastal water way and what the name of it is. There is always a name. Down further in south Florida it is called the Indian River. I didn't know if they called it that up north by Daytona.

I was raised in Daytona and I couldn't stand it.

i used to live in daytona when i wa 2 but we never really went to the beach. but then over the past summer, we went there and stayed at Plaza Resort and Spa. on that street, there is a WHOLE BUNCH of things to do!!! there are so many gift shops lol! our hotel room had a view of their blue ocean AND a balcony. it was the best vacation ever it is so beautiful! i got a whole bunch of seashells. tourists voted it the best beach in america. but if ur wanting a good vaction, go to daytona beach!!!!!!!

I live in Daytona, and there isn't much to do besides drink and go to the beach.. or both at the same time.

i love daytona beach!!! i remember when we went there, my brother stepped on a sandshark and i caught a green puffer fish!! a lot of memories!

Go to lauderdale, I lived in Daytona, aside from the well known name, there isnt much to do most of the time, in my opinion. The beach is nice but I think you will find more variety in lauderdale and you are also near the everglades, etc. Personally I wouldnt waste my time in daytona if I flew across the earth to be in florida.
