ECOW = Electronically Controlled One-Wheel Scooter
Within the scope of the diploma-project at the TGM (a higher technical college in Vienna) a self-balancing, one-wheeled vehicle was built.
The project's objective is to mount an electronic stabiliser to a common unicycle in order to prevent it from overbalancing with forward or reverse motion. Nevertheless, the driver has to keep his/her balance because there is no stabilisation implemented to the left and the right. On the other hand, this handicap enables the driver to steer by shifting weight.
