Irmhild Beutler - La Gondoletta, 2009 (based on the Venetian folksong "La Biondina in Gondoletta"). The arrangement, published by Moeck Verlag in their series for recorder orchestra, retraces the sound and playing technique of a barrel organ. Our pick-up group played this as part of my forthcoming review of the piece for American Recorder magazine, which will be quite favorable as this piece is very charming and fairly easy with only one virtuoso part for sopranino. This was our second reading. The sopranino solo is played by Sharon Howard and the contra-bass recorder part by Marilyn Flowers. Please excuse the shaky hand-held video!
