  • I just ordered the Director's Cut (DVD), which hasn't been delivered yet. So the director's cut does not have this full song?

  • No, Piddle Twiddle is cut as it is in the theatrical version for the Director's Cut DVD.

  • If you look closely William Daniels, you will notice him making weird mouth movements.

When they were filming this scene, it was a chilly Philadelphia evening, as opposed to the hot and muggy one history recorded that specific night being.

Daniels sucked on ice cubes throughout this whole number to avoid shivering and ruining the illusion.

Have to admire the man for his dedication, that's all I have to say.

  • Very well done. I prefer this version than the shorten version that the DVD and the VHS version played. I love listening to John Adams's remarks. They always make me laugh because of his irration with congress. He certainly had a way with words. :) But our country needed him at the time. Glad he was one of our founding fathers... along with Franklin, Jefferson, Livingstone, Sherman, etc., We needed these strong fine men to speak for the American people.

  • ya know guys it's sad, over 200 years and congress STILL hasn't gotten any better ;)

  • @WhiteIguana I feel a kinship with John for the same reason the place where he was born is only an hour and fifteen minutes away from my own....

  • I need a soundboard with John Adams quotes from this movie.

    including:

"for god sake listen to me"

    "Never, Never"

"one foot in front of the other"

    "oh, shut up!"

    "Good God" AND

"that was the most revolting display i have ever witnessed"

  • Wow, I have never seen the full version of this song. NICE VIDEO. Either this or the Lees of Old Virginia is my favorite.

  • Paul Giamatti must bow to William Daniels.

  • @BullMooseFilms This is the version in the theatrical score, just with the added spoken text (which they do a lot in this film)...

  • @WhiteIguana definately.

  • @MildlyAnnoyed There was a laserdisc release in the 80s (I think?). They had almost all the footage, but they couldn't find "How'd you like to borrow a dollar off one o' them?"

  • @melarry but yes he may be one of the most important people in our counrtys history but hes years in his presidency were not his best his presedincy cant rank in terms of Lincolns, F.D.R. Reagen Eisenhower and Truman and he could be considered the father of the Constitution for his book THoughts of Governement showed many similarities in our nations government and James Madison did read it so yes John Adams is very important and i am a big fan of him im not in any way trying to deminish him

  • @melarry yes i completely agree that he set up everything for T.J. John was the brain behind the Decleration and Tom just made it sound good and he was not as good a president as a philosopher because he violated the first amendment by saying that people could not outspokingly be against the government and he was not good at persuading people to agree on his views just like J.Q.A. thought Jays Treaty was signed as a highlight of his presidency and he was the first huge supporter of the navy
