I'm ashamed I'm from there. I agree, they should have taken the wrecking ball down Gallia Street to Chillicothe Street to the river. Shawnee State is a school to help the Portsmouth kids move out. I loved the place before everything closed, such as the steel mill. The 1950s and 60s were great. After that, Portsmouth imploded due to bad government and unions. It got what it deserved. I escaped to Alabama in 1979.

yeah, they should just keep on leveling the whole town and start over, with people from somewhere else in charge! Maybe then they could get some roads built and get some businesses to come back.

This is sad. Haven't been to Portsmouth in years. Graduated there in '76. Some great memories.
