  • The Valencia pushrod engine is indestrucable. It is a modified Kent engine by Ford that was used in the Ford Anglia, Escort (and Orion I think), most Fiestas until the mid 1990s and the first edition of the Ford Ka. So it has been around for a long time. Many Fiesta owners have found that they gain an extra 10 to 15 hp once they removed the air filter. Perhaps look at replacing it with a KN filter instead. They were basic but good cars. I will own another at some point. I have a VW Polo now. :-D

  • my fiesta comes from koln in germany .did the engine came from spain?? since the removing of the airfilter the engine reacts much faster , may bee i put a short film of it on youtube , , i saw your coldstart of the polo , i will putt a cold start also on youtube , cheers!

  • I knew it was from the 1960s era, just couldn't think of who it was. Thanks for that. How is the old Fiesta going? Still on the road? I used to own a blue Ford Fiesta MK1 1.1L 1981. I miss that car very much. :-)

  • shadows are great! the fiesta is cool ,still starts in one time , although its very cold now. battery is good ,new sparkplugs . i only removed the airfilter now he has more air and preforms much better. (strange?) only the rust is a problem in the bottom of the car. dont now how long he will go one, but in july 2010 i own him 10 years .and in august he becomes 28 years hahaha, great car

  • removing the air filter is simply the stupidest thing you could do. Think about what a filter does, if you've seen an old filter before you quickly realise that that amount of dust dirt and small insects will easily get in your engine without.

  • @FordFiestaMK1 The engines were built in Spain and Germany I think. Google it and see what comes up.
