  • Nice run I have just about the same setup but only was able to run a 12.2 @ 112 with a 1.66 60'. I have 4:10's what gears are you running?

  • @67mustang97 That's a good ET for that MPH. In this video I was using 4.10s with 28" slicks.

  • @swooshonln I have several sets of street tires. The tallest is 28" (255/55/17), you won't run out of gear with those. I have 4.10s too, and with 26" slicks, I cross the traps at over 130 mph, still in 4th gear. Slicks swell up at the top end, so the the rpms aren't that high, around 6500 +/-

  • @TGarzarel well that is as fast as my gears will let me go.. even with 500 rwhp I would still only be doing 115 top in 4th.... it would just get there quicker. if I added a bigger tire in the back I would be able to increase my MPH im sure to close to what you think I should be getting.

  • @swooshonln Unless your car weighs 4000lbs, your probably making a lot less than 430 rwhp. Dunno, maybe something happened since you dynoed your car. 111-114 trap speeds are more consistent with 340-350 rwhp, which is typically the power level one makes at 8 psi with a centrifugal. Go intercooled and crank that boost up. I was making 500 rwhp with my stock shortblock at 15 psi. It'll hold, if the tune is good. Having a race gas tune would be further insurance.

  • @TGarzarel I am keeping the boost down real low because I am on the stock motor still. 7.5 PSI making around 430 to the wheels. ( around 400 rwtq) . I dont drag race much, only been out a few times. Would love to see low 12's though.

  • @swooshonln w/ a T-trim and cams, you should be near 500 rwhp and 125 mph. This vid is 3 years old. At that time, the diff, tranny and axles were stock, but not anymore. Driveshaft was and still is stock. If you dragrace a lot with slicks, everything will break. But of those things, only the T45 gave me problems. The other stuff never broke, but I did occassionally need to replace the clutches in the diff. You should worry more about the 114 mph. You're about 100 rwhp down.

  • hey man how are you? I have a S/C 04 GT with a v1 t-trim and comp cams. Somebody showed me this video. My 1/4 mile times suck, but I am goign through the traps at 111-115 mph some times (4.10's). My best time is a 12.9 with a 2.1 60'. Do you have the stock rear-end (other then gears?) What about transmission? Drive shaft? do you not have problems with the stock stuff? Sorry for all the questions man! Take care!

  • @cbeck611 5k clutch drop, 470 rwhp on race gas

  • @TGarzarel what rpm did you launch from and what did it make to the wheels at the time of this video?
