@CyberDruidtheModGod You got a nice discount... I bought mine Jan 15th, 2008 for $13,500 after tax & license. No extended service/warranty.
I'm at 49,802 miles.

Looks like a nice mod CD. The sound isnt bad either :p
I would go for the mesh as a cover. That'll stop the water too ;)

you dont remove the inner cover. period. if something gets in there, the first place its going is into your IAC inlet hose. As well as making your airbox waterproof its there for a reason.

@PleaseComeFindMe On the 1125r the IAC hose is under the pleated filter. Yes it's there for a reason: to pass sound emissions and to produce positive air pressure at speeds over about 80 MPH. Without a doubt the bike is quieter and takes less time to go from 80 to 170 when air is being forced in the snorkel and fed into the filter under the inner airbox. But at the legal speed limit and in traffic or slower speeds the air hitting the snorkel is pre heated by the exhaust, oil cooler and engine,

@FireCell101 I bought mine in May of 2008 well before the closing of Buell and the subsequent "fire sale" by HD so I paid full price. About $12K with the 5 year extended Service Policy and Wheel and Tire Road Hazard package. I've put a few hundred into her. Touring seat was about $240, Blue windshield was about $75, Tail Tidy and LED lights for the tag about $100, Turn Signal mod and bar end mirrors about $40, EBR race ecm $250, SIde fairings, $400. It adds up. But it's my favorite bike.
