  • Fucking hell that was one hell of a drum solo ! Ginger baker was the 'Hendrix' of Drummers

  • I never liked Ginger Baker's drumming to be honest. Didn't think he was the same calibre as Eric and Jack. HE WAS!!!!

Fan-bloody-tastic solo. Not overdone or showy, just right!!!!

Cream was (along with Jimmy Hendrix' trio) the best ever in my opinion.

  • @SoulTraveler400 Any decent drummer would take notes.

  • @BidleyThePirate This is the one case where I have to disagree.

  • @x6s6 It was a trend of the time. Television cameras were just being fitted with the zoom lens, so they figured "shaking" the picture would make it seem as though the music was shaking the camera.

But I'd still bitchslap the cameramen and editors, if they were still alive.

  • I'd like to slap the cameramen and the editor(s) who cut this video together. One by one, in front of their children.

  • @WhiteCamry YES YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT he was so much more than a rock band drummer but he infulenced many of that ilk at that time..i can remember watching ginger on a documentary about percussion in africa and he was demonstrating a set of talking drums...and it was on our family black and white tv....lol thats how far back it was...he was ahead of his time

  • @WELLBRAN,

Which is ironic, considering how he hates being called a "rock drummer."

  • ....fucking monstrous lol. i've never air drummed so aggressively in my life.

  • @BidleyThePirate you maybe right there but its not so much a solo as more of a demonstration..he is giving a grande tour of the drum kit i think he inspired alot of people to pick up 2 sticks and start playing...also way ahead of his time being that he was studying african drums, he was a jazz drummer in the early days so i think that he did not have any other rock drummer influence in his playing...although he had jazz influence eg he used brushes alot

  • @BidleyThePirate X-Factor, just a bit less musically demanding for a non-drummer

  • @ixion58 ginger was a jazz drummer originally but what he did was put rock drumming on the map. but you are right there are great jazz drummers also, but ginger was a pioneer in rock
