Licensing out OS X has been a fairly big discussion and via my last video it sparked up yet again. This is an addition to my previous series with new information and outlook.

I have a series of links that accompany the video as follows:

For the section on clones, these articles explain the true problems of Apple as the clones were only a very small part of its demise. Apple suffered from product recalls and inventory/production management. Another variable that many miss is that Apple made 11.5 Billion in total annual sales just as the clone program started very late 1994.

Here is the 11.5 billion links:

  • If Apple were to license OSX, Windows sales would suffer, I am convinced of it. I decided to buy a Mac last week, an ibook G4, first one ever, after being and still being a pc user of 10 years, and I love it. I feel that by not licensing out OSX Apple are being detremental to their own business, and if they "did" license it or "set it free" it would increase their profits 10 fold,

  • i am glad you agree, did you say you got a G4, why such an older model, just curious?

  • And that's why Jobs is multi-billionaire and you're nothing but...I don't know...what? You obviously have no business skills at all when you talk about licencing OS X...sigh.

Stick to what you're good at Bitty, have a nice day.

  • Thanks for the comment, i do not pretend to have better business skills but I agree with those at the time at Apple when they also wanted to license out, the days without the ipods, iphones and online music.

  • Yup G4...the reason.....Small budget lol

  • 100 macbooks=100,000 dollers

you could sell cheaper product (OS X)

    100,000 OS X copies=13,000,000 dollers

  • he may be rich, but gates is richer

  • I kinda with you Mr.Bit, but I like the idael to have muiltple Oses on one computer. Than having two computers (PC and Mac . Some go this route because they are power use or habbiest and this save them some money only have to buy the Os( whether be windows for the Mac or OS X for a PC hackintosh). I'm also into IT and I have some Microsoft certs but would like in to Apple certs also. I would like to one day to own a OS X for the PC (when Apple allows it to happen).

  • (rj6v that is)

  • The idiot who wrote this comment was banned from youtube a few days later.
