Ok, that was Monday, you visited him on Monday. You didn't visit him on Tuesday, Blago was taken into custody on Tuesday 9th.

So let me reword your statement:
"...That's what I shared with Governor Blagojevich on SUNDAY,
when I had the opportunity to [speak] with him for the first time in four years.
I want to repeat that,
I met with Governor Blagojevich for the first time in four years on MONDAY."
A small slip of the tongue? Not. You ougth to have spoken [shared] to Blago on Sunday, you met [visited] him on Monday.
Now it makes sense.
GOTCHA!

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley:
"A special election costs us 3 to 5 million dollars for less than a year, you know, you've got to have confidence in the next Governor of Illinois"
"Confidence" has more than one meaning,
doesn't it?
