Step 1: Turn off power to the circuit

Turn off the power to the circuit you will be working on. This is usually done at the breaker box.

Step 2: Remove the old light fixture

Carefully remove the old light fixture using a screwdriver. Pay close attention to the existing wiring connections.

Tip: Make a quick sketch or take a digital photo of the wiring connections for reference while you're installing the new fixture.

Step 3: Assemble the new light fixture

Assemble the new light fixture following the manufacturer's instructions.

Step 4: Install a mounting strap, if needed

Install a new mounting strap, if needed. Screw the new strap into place on the junction box in the ceiling.

  • Electricity don't travel at 186000 miles per second, it's the electric field that travels that fast.

  • weed?

  • i just refresh the page be4 the ad starts

  • Ahh I see. Well i've learnt something. I probably should have taken physics.

  • I hope your house burns down with your kids inside

  • It is widely accepted that special relativity puts a max speed limit on how fast particles can travel, but scientists in Quantum Physics have suggested otherwise. They claim that we have misinterpreted the theory, and the only stipulation about light speed is this: all freely observing viewers must perceive the speed of light at the same rate. This is how they justify the seemingly instantaneous transmission of info. between remote, entangled elementary particles. It's very controversial.

  • tomllama,

I understand your analogy. I thought your original question had to do with the speed of electricity. In everyday encounters with electricity (i.e. light bulbs, televisions, etc.) some people call it instantaneous because for all practical applications, it is. But if you're talking about pure Physics, then it is not accurate to say it is instantaneous. Sensitive measuring devices can prove this quite easily.

  • and make sure that the comectors r on tight and that they make contact

  • Here's one Howcast:

How to skip annoying 30 second ads at the beginning of your videos. You will need: patience. Step 1: At the end of the URL while the ad is playing, add "#t=0m0s" without the quotes. Step 2: Refresh. Step 3: Enjoy the video.

  • Imagine if you could set up a string between the Earth and Mars, if you pull the string at one end, the other end won't move at the same time, the particles within the string pulls each other one by one by bonding forces like covalent forces.

So it's much slower than the speed of light! ;)
