  • Children! Children, now stop all the noise and go back to your places, at once! This is theatre, not religion. It is a SHOW, an entertainment. Miss Netrebko is an artiste, as was Miss Sutherland etc, so not very important people (compared say to International Aid workers). Like all artists, She and the director work out a way of 'doing' a text ( a score IS a text). Somepeople will hate their take on it, others will adore it. It's a Show, not a faith. Got that? Good, carry on.

  • I have to say Ms. Netrebko has IMPROVED TREMENDOUSLY since this performance. I heard her sing Norina in Don Pasquale this season at the MET and it was just exquisite. I have always loved her timbre but had issues with her lack of agility in the coloratura sections, phrasing (at times odd), and inconsistent (sometimes non-existent) trill.

HOWEVER...she seems to have really worked on her technique and the voice is now bigger, much more agile, and wonderfully connected.

  • Irressistiblemeentee, Comooo Sieeempreee, Exeeleenteeee!!!!!!

  • @scbro78 It was never actually written into it in the first place....

  • 183 persons must be angry... because i think it is good music :P

  • Me ha encantado! Es una hermosura, un gran regalo para el espíritu. Muchas gracias.

  • Чудесно! Сколько экспрессии и очарования) Виват!

  • Molto emozionante!

  • @EdMoss100 I beg your pardon, but artists are very important people. Art is the language of the universe; it is one of the only things that will always be a constant in this world forever. We artists to keep this world turning just as much as we need "international aid workers."

  • Netrebko's Anna Bolena at the Met this year was beyond stunning. I had the wonderful privilege of watching her in person on the Grand Opening night with excellent side-parterre box seats right up on the stage. I don't know if the baby-weight gain is to credit lol but the full-bodied roundness, emotion, and increased versatility of her voice enthralled the audience so that we were picking our jaws up off of the floor by the time that she was done with us. My mascara was sadly not waterproof :\.

  • Not singing the high note at the end is so, so weak...
