Oratorio Society of New York's concert on April 26, 2012 is a tribute to Czech music, past and present, that also celebrates Carnegie Hall's 120th anniversary. Included on the program is Antonín Dvorák's inspirational Stabat mater, a work composed in 1876 during a time of great personal tragedy that is now a musical affirmation of the power of life over death. Kent Tritle discusses the work, and the Society's historic connection to Dvorák.
