i weight about 180 pounds and a fast metabolism and i just started my p90x training and my daily calories a day is 1,800 but am still hungry should i eat more complex meal?

Your comment that monosaccharides could practically be injected into our bloodstream because they don't have to be broken apart, seems to imply that you believe that they raise blood glucose levels more quickly than polysaccharides. Please consider the Glycemic Index, which clearly shows that fructose, a monosaccharide, raises blood sugar more slowly than white bread, a polysaccharide. Obviously, there is more to the metabolism to glucose than just breaking apart the molecules.

Metabolism takes place in each and every cell and is carried out by enzymes,or rather chains of enzymes.
Catabolism in particular is the process whereby complex molecules are converted to energy in the form of ATP.
In the production of ATP,oxygen would kind of be the flame you are talking about
