A team of 8 Border Collies! 4 of us had two BC's each and we hooked them up for the first time in this video. Normally we race in the 4 dog catagory. I currently sled with 3 of my Border Collies. I am waiting for Fixx to be old enough to join the fun and hopefully make a team of 4...but enough of us locally are sledding with our BC's that we can always make up a team somehow.

what a riot... love these dogs.. my three year old Mac is a larger variety bred for cattle. he is huge.. 70 lbs. I am a disabled veteran of a marine infantry unit from the vietnam era. My border collie is my service dog.. the best most loving pooch I have ever had. I take him to nursing homes and veteran hospitals... he is a gift from the almighty..

I was thinking about using my flock guarding dogs for some sledding.But I'm alittle worried about going on a Nantucket sleigh ride.

Now I regret not buying all 6 BC pups when I bought the one pup......she is an awesome dog and would love to be a part of a dog sled team. Keep up the fun :) and post more videos.

huskys, malamutes, groenland dogs, samoyedes or eskimo dog for mush .. But don't borders.

Do you use ur border collies to "chase" the sheeps? i'm not gonna raise my dog to be a in a farm and chase sheeps. :o i wanna learn it tricks and such and walk long distances everyday with it.
so what about you guys?

how far can these border collies go?

We usually enter 4 mile races with 4 BC's. They are not made for long distance but do very well in the sprint 4 mile races
