@WatchMe42 usually the law is that you must have your rear axle over the line (the line your supposed to stop at) when the light goes red. If your axle is beyond the line you're considered "in the intersection" and it is legal for you to proceed.

@WatchMe42 In the state of Illinois if you are safely able to come to a stop when the light is yellow you must do so. Other wise it's failure to yield. I'm fairly confident the state of California is the same way people just don't know it.

i dont know about the laws in Chicago, but in LA, if the car passes the first intersection line and then the light turns red, but you did not cross the second intersection line, it is legal.
