@rockavstar oh really? wat? i don't really get wat u said lol soz. but im guessin u mean she dint write 1000 miles yet when she was 17? search "vanessa carlton dateline interview" or something nd she says she used to do these performances starting frm when she was 17 nd she wrote them starting from when she was like 14 or 15 or something. yeah i think she wrote them when she was about that age cos im 15 and ive made 5 songs on da piano. well they're nowhere as good as hers tho! lolol
@XLnotsofunny yeah i think she was less nervous in these performances because the crowds weren't as big. she was better at live performances when she was less nervous
I think many singers are like this nowadays. Just see Linkin Park, Michelle Branch, Lene Marlin, Renan Luce, KT tunstall...I dont know your musical inspirations but normally their first albums are the best, then they later turn more "commercial" because they have to get sales and as such they lose the things that make them unique, and more importantly, they lose the ability to touch your emotions deep inside :(
yeah I prefer the 1º album aswel is like she has a lot of pressure to write the songs and she doesn't composse them because she feels that it's like she has to write songs just for writing song not for express what she feels like she did bfore

@violetgirl1996 I'm not so sure about that. I'm pretty sure she only wrote ATM when she was recording BNN.

Aw, she's so young here. Any idea of what year this was?

Vanessa Carlton's first album was the most commercial. I feel her past two albums were much more from the heart than her first.

Yeah I completely agree with you
