So few people respect manual typewriters anymore, 'tis a shame :( Happy to know that there are still so many followers of the good, old-fashioned Olivetti :)

@DrTypewriter. Thanks for helping me. I'm going to make a video.

@labyrinthmonkee Probably the spring that jump it back up are missing or out of adjustment. Check the springs and look for a cause maybe by the keypads. Make a video of it so maybe i can help you.

Is that the original case? I don't think so.

My shift has the problem you were talking about: it just stays down when i shift. i've cleaned off the little posts, and it still sticks. is there any other specific places i could clean to fix it?

Can anyone tell me what the dimensions are for the original Lettera 32 spools? I tried to google it, but haven't had any luck. Thanks.

@dirkdavy That's great! I've always personally wanted a Lettera 33. I love the way they look. And I'm not really too sure how many typewriters I have at the moment, but it's in the double digits. I've been getting rid of some, because I don't want too many of them, as I don't want them to go unused. But I do have typewriters that are definitely in my permanent collection, and this one is definitely one of them. But if I had to make a guess I'd say around 20(!)
My 32 is a early serial number one with scandinavian keyset.
And red. Or rather pinkish orange. I'm wondering if anyone else has come across ones that are not blue?
Oh and the best part is that i only paid 17 euros for it.

@samiherra Well, I actually have seen some red ones, but they are very rare!

Did you buy the ribbon for the Olivetti from Tom as well? It looks very dark and saturated. I've heard from others that his ribbons are heavily inked.

@greeterboy Well, I bought the typewriter from someone local, and the ribbons I do buy from Tom. But even though they are still dark, they are not the same company that you have in mind, which made ribbons unparalleled in quality. They went out of business a couple of years ago.
