  • Do all originals have stampings? I just got one w o any markings at all. Its well made and solid, but lacks back lock, and rope tool.

  • @Axbent I would think all the forces issued ones were stamped.

  • @moleman1961 Good deal, the 1945 model that I've got in a similar condition cost between 50p and £1.50 from a car boot sale (I can't remember exactly as I bought it about 3 years ago).

  • @nylecrane2k7 It needed cleaning up a bit so the dealer let me have it for £5!

  • @moleman1961 How much did you pay?

  • Got one made in 1945, doesn't have the Marlinspike though.

  • This style and make of knife is still used today by the British Army.

  • @wulfesinger67 I have smooth feathers! Thanks for that and thanks for watching!

  • @mazadan the spike was originally used for splicing ropes and working lose knots , its called a marlin spike. being a farrier i would use a spike unless i had too to remove stones there is a great chance of going to deep and injuring the hoof. before you get your feathers ruffled im not saying it couldnt be used as a pickjust stating it original use. these style of knifes can still be bought new today from many boat and sailing supply houses

  • nice one! Thanks!
