"I'll set the record straight", chortles Chris Penn. "Nobody shot nice guy Eddie. It was a mistake. What was supposed to happen, Harvey Keitel was supposed to shoot Lawrence Tierney, then shoot me, then get squibbed. But what happened was the squib on Harvey went right off after he shot Lawrence, so he went down, but my squib went off anyway, so I went down. So, basically nobody shot Nice Guy Eddie.
Quentin said "You know what? It'll be the biggest controversy of the film. We're leaving it."

@crazychristian28 I wouldn't think so. If you listen properly you can hear some gunshots outside and Pink shouting to the cops, as if surrendering...

@vette543211 He got arrested. He's the waiter in Pulp Fiction, so he's probably just been released from jail in that movie.

Everyone who says its pink, i think that is kinda dumb because if you watch the rest of the scene, when the shooting happened, mr pink jumped under the ramp that orange is on.

White did it, he sound two rounds, one at joe and one at nice guy eddie. why is there a debate about this? you can see plane as day if you just pay close enough attention.

Maybe it is just a case of a misfired squib, but I will always choose to believe that pink killed him from the corner.

THIS IS THE TRUTH:
the answer is, and this is from an interview with chris penn, is that it was a mistake. Mr. white shoots him in the script, but Nice Guy Eddie's squib went off too early for white to fire the gun. Nobody shot him. Tarantino kept it so that it would be this whole crazy controversy. I love that man.
