@MaryVanGils, no worries and thank you! A phd, I play with wing design - an art form in itself :)! All fun and games.

@SaMiiSaur Well, I don't really consider myself to be in any position to talk about having an art career since I'm still just a student who occasionally sells some art. I will continue to pursue a career as an artist though and it will definitely be hard but it will also pay off because there is nothing else I want to spend my life doing, and I don't intend to ever stop working towards this. I do not expect anything glamorous.

I have a question. Is it hard trying to have an art career? Does it pay off? Do you think that it's like, what you expected?
-
@WaistcoatDave haha yeah, I shouldn't have gone in with such high expectations.
Hey Mary, great work. I've popped onto your channel every now and then, and it's good to see how you've "grown". Keep it up! People very rarely develop a true passion for something by your age. Uni is generally used in accelerating that process. You're already there, so just get all you can out of it as a resource, for networking, etc. Good luck with yr2.

@0AshleyDale0 Thanks for this. You are completely right and I appreciate the reminder to get the most out of my experiences here. I hope you have a wonderful year doing whatever it is that you do.

I'm just now watching this.I'm sorry I am extremely late, but happy birthday! I hope your break is going well and that your next year of art school will be better. By the way, what music do you listen to when your painting?

@RebyDaRebel Thanks! I usually just put my ipod on shuffle when I'm working so that I don't have to break my concentration to choose new music all the time. So I listen to all kind of things! Once I get into the right headspace and I'm really focused I don't really notice what I'm listening to.

I'm also into art and I am debating wether to go to art school or not... Do you think it was worth it? What kind of program did you take?

@britishtwiggy Well I have only completed my first year so far so I can't comment on the entire experience yet. I think it can be worth it if you utilize it fully and use it as a means of pushing yourself rather than just trying to get through it. It can be invaluable for the people you meet and the networks you establish but don't expect it to really teach you how to be an artist, that is something you need to take care of. I am doing a fine art program.
