  • Is it ok to use two plugs in the one hole? I tried one plug but the hole is too big. Two plugs seal it up.

  • @DiarmaidGNR its not recommended no. when its that big you need to remove the tire from the rim and patch it from the inside. average cost is about 40 to 50 dollars at my shop. we are a dealership. a place like midis, firestone, goodyear, kramer, and pepboys will likely be a little cheaper. but a patch can only be placed on the flat pat of the tire. if its near the edge or the tire where its curved then they will likely sell you a new tire. a used tire is fine if a new one is to much.

  • @MrGizmo757 50 $ for a pach?? in Romania its 4$. here with 50$ you buy a new Goodyear tire=))

  • @avalanchexy Well, Welcome to the USA. the land of Greedy capitalist and politicians. and people wonder why the citizens of such a rich nation are so poor and broke all the time.

  • Thanks for posting this. I'm thinking of getting non RFT winter tires for an X5 but the car doesn't have a spare wheel. Having never used any kits like this before I thought I'd find a video explanation. Looks pretty simple once you know how! Do you know how this kind of kit compares with those tyre weld like things that spray into the inside?

  • @Spanky2k You don't want to use those spray items like fix a flat. they ruin the tire and the gas inside the tire form those things is explosive. very dangerous for the Mechanic when its time to replace that tire. they are only good for a temporary fix just long enough to get to the shop. plugging it like i did will last the life of the tire. Mechanics hate that spray stuff. Most will advise against it.

  • Thanks for this useful video... most mechanics around my area charge $20 for a $5 fix.

  • Good video, I'm wondering if after you completed the plug it was still leaking do you try and pull the plug out or push it in and start over??
