  • Brilliant video.

My Great Grandfather was a survivor of the Somme. He was there with the 18th West Yorkshire regiment, Bradford Pals.

He was there at the first hour of the first day of fighting.

After the First hour, 1770 of the 2000 men from Bradford had been killed or wounded.

He had lied about his age so that he could go too. He was only 14 year old.

  • If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood

Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,

Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud

Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,

My friend, you would not tell with such high zest

To children ardent for some desperate glory,

The old Lie; Dulce et Decorum est

    Pro patria mori.

  • Brilliant video.

May they all rest in peace.

Also good choice with Dire Straits.

  • You have a strange view of history. I'd love to know who taught you that. Perhaps i could recommend a good few books for you to read.

May ALL those killed in the World War One rest in peace. May all of Europe and further afield remember their dead.

  • The three great evils of the 20th century, Nazism, Bolshevism and Irish Republicanism took power as a direct result of WWI. The Bolshevik revolution and the 1916 uprising were funded by the German government to cripple the British and Russian war efforts and Adolf Hitler took advantage of the German people's despair at their destruction as a major world power.

  • We will remember them.

  • Great video, "We will remember them"
